This term we will be making the “Prairie Quilt”. This quilt uses the Snow Ball and Pinwheel blocks. It also uses prairie points along the border of the quilt. This is an optional border feature, if you choose to use it, it will add something extra to your quilt. When you enrol in this course you will be learning 3 quilting techniques.
This quilt pattern is very versatile and adaptable whilst people of all ages. It is a free pattern. This pattern makes a smaller, baby sized quilt . A larger quilt can be made through adding more blocks to the quilt.

Your Tutor - Jane Silcox
My name is Jane Silcox. I am the owner and director of Heartfulowl, a craft business that teaches sewing and quilting to children and adults in the western suburbs of Brisbane. I have been sewing for approximately 40 years and quilting for more than 5 years. I teach a children’s sewing class on a weekly basis in Middle Park. I also teach beginning sewing course for adults and a regular adult sewing class as well. I have been teaching quilting for several years now and have taught children, teenagers and adults to quilt. Last year I taught the Beginner’s quilting class for the first time at Kenmore Community Education in 2015. This year in term 1 I will be teaching the basic skills of quilting using a new pattern. Once these basic skills have been learnt I will be following up each term with a new quilt pattern. Each term students will learn new skills and develop their quilting repertoire while making some new beautiful quilts! I hope will join me in 2016 on your own quilting adventure!
